Female Sex Offenders Sometimes Viewed Differently

When it comes to young female teachers and student sex abuse, there tends to be a double standard.  Some in the public, usually males, may think that it is okay for male students to have a relationship with their female teachers. They may make comments, such as “Where was this teacher when I was in school?” or “What does she look like?” However, if the roles were reversed and it was a male teacher engaging in a sexual relationship with a minor female student, their comments and reactions would probably be entirely different.

Devastating Effects of Child Sex Abuse

Sexual predators, whether male or female teachers, cause the same harm to their minor victims. The effects of child sex abuse are devastating, and often long lasting. Victims of child sex abuse may feel powerless, embarrassed and distrustful of other people. For many, the abuse affects the victim’s development and increases the chance that they may be abused in the future.
