Laffey Bucci D’Andrea Reich & Ryan is pleased to announce that Pennsylvania attorney Stewart Ryan has joined the firm’s crime victim injury law group. Mr. Ryan is one of the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office lawyers who successfully prosecuted the Bill Cosby sex assault case earlier this year after the first trial ended in a mistrial in 2017. Mr. Ryan has a wealth of experience in the courtroom. He started his legal career as a prosecutor where he handled violent crimes and sex assault and sex abuse cases. He quickly rose through the ranks in the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office and became Assistant Chief of the Trials Division.
Mr. Ryan joins the firm’s crime victim injury practice, where he will represent victims against criminal perpetrators and other parties. The practice includes representation of sex abuse victims, shooting victims, assault victims, etc. The firm handles cases nationwide on a case by case basis. Attorneys at the firm are licensed in multiple states including Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Illinois, etc.
Mr. Ryan’s experience in the Cosby matter will no doubt contribute to the firm’s passion for victims’ rights. For the past decade, the firm’s lawyers have handled cases of national interest including a child molestation case against a sitting state court judge and multiple student sex abuse lawsuits against schools and churches.
